Grew up among insurance policies, trained at Zurich Insurance Company, German Directorate, in Frankfurt am Main. Underwriter liability. Then switched to the customer side, initially working for an American office equipment group. Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) in Germany appointed him Managing Director of the group's own insurance brokerage firm. In 2000, he set up his own business and founded Atrialis GmbH.
